We are proud to have been the main contractor for Birchwood House in Berkhamsted, winner of the Individual House Award at the Schüco Excellence Awards 2025.

Birchwood House – Schüco Excellence Awards 2025 Winner

Working closely with Stanley Architects, our team transformed this steep-sloping site into a striking family home that makes the most of its garden views. The build included:

  • Complex glazed façades combining curved and straight sections.

  • Panoramic sliding doors set flush into the floor for a seamless transition from inside to out.

  • Custom aluminium fins and solar shading, carefully engineered to align with the curtain walling.

  • A new double-height living space and staircase, opening up the centre of the house.

Delivering these precision-engineered details required careful planning and craftsmanship on site. From bespoke brackets for the shading system to the flawless installation of curved glass, every stage demanded accuracy and collaboration.

This award celebrates not only the design vision but also the quality of construction — and we’re delighted that our work has been recognised on a national stage.
